How to Bulk Enrol Users into Your Courses

If you need to enrol a large number of users into courses, you can upload users to courses via a text (.csv) file to perform a bulk action.

File Format and Input Field Required

You can use the template attached to the bottom of this page. Simply add the usernames and course short names to the template.

If you would like to upload users to more than one course, you can simply add columns for course 2, course3, etc.

*Note: The course short names need to be exact matches of those recorded on your LMS. In the relevant course, this can be found in "Course admin" > "Edit settings."

Perform the Bulk Upload

Step 1: Click on "Site admin", followed by "User management", then "Bulk upload users."

Step 2: Upload your populated CSV file and then click on "Bulk upload users via CSV."

Step 3: Review user information.

Step 4: Once you're happy, you can click on "Bulk upload users via CSV" to complete the upload and see your upload results.

*Note: Before performing this bulk action, we encourage creating a test course with test users and performing a test bulk upload in case you make a mistake.
